Luis Jiménez
Luis Jiménez (1940–2006) was a groundbreaking American sculptor known for his large-scale, vividly colored fiberglass works that blend pop culture, Chicano identity, and social commentary. Born in El Paso, Texas, he drew on Mexican-American heritage, border culture, and political themes to challenge stereotypes and celebrate marginalized voices. His bold public sculptures—often dynamic, humorous, and confrontational—made him one of the most influential Latino artists in contemporary American art.
