Overview

Anti Matter Art Placement (AMAP) is an art consultancy and dealership founded in 2018 by lifelong friends and collectors Benjamin Fuentes and Thomas Mauling. We specialize in sourcing, curating, and placing distinctive artworks for private collectors, designers, and corporate clients, with a particular emphasis on Outsider art.

 

Services Provided

  • Art Sales & Acquisition

    • We source and sell artworks from our inventory, partner galleries, private collections, and auction houses.

  • Art Placement & Installation

    • We curate and install artworks in homes, offices, and design‑driven environments.

  • Collection Advisory

    • We help clients build, refine, or deaccession collections with guidance on market trends and artist selection.

  • Market Representation

    • We facilitate sales through major auction houses and coordinate logistics, shipping, and quotes.

  • Outsider Art Expertise

    • We represent and source works from emerging and established Outsider artists across major U.S. art markets.

 

Pricing & Quotes

  • Quotes

    • All quotes are valid for 10 business days unless otherwise stated.

  • Price Changes

    • Prices may change without notice until payment is received in full.

  • Taxes

    • Clients are responsible for all applicable sales, use, VAT, or import taxes.

 

Payment Terms

  • Accepted Methods

    • Bank transfers, certified checks, and other methods agreed upon in writing.

  • Payment Schedule

    • Full payment is required before artwork is released, shipped, or installed.

  • Late Payments

    • Invoices not paid on time may incur interest at 1.5% per month or the maximum allowed by law.

 

Artwork Condition & Authenticity

  • Condition Reports

    • We provide condition information to the best of our knowledge. Third‑party reports may be requested at the client’s expense.

  • Authenticity

    • We guarantee authenticity based on documentation from artists, estates, galleries, or trusted dealers.

  • Outsider Art Considerations

    • Provenance may vary; all available information is disclosed at the time of sale.

 

Shipping, Delivery & Installation

Shipping

Shipping costs are the client’s responsibility unless otherwise agreed.

Risk of Loss

Risk transfers to the client upon carrier pickup or delivery, depending on the arrangement.

Installation

Installation services may be provided by AMAP or third‑party professionals. Fees are quoted in advance.

 

Returns & Refunds

  • All Sales Are Final

    • Due to the unique nature of artworks, all sales are final unless otherwise agreed in writing.

  • Damage Claims

    • Shipping damage must be reported within 48 hours of delivery.

 

Consignments & Secondary Market Sales

  • Consignment Terms

    • Consigned artworks require a separate agreement outlining commissions, insurance, and sale terms.

  • Auction Facilitation

    • Third‑party auction house terms and fees apply.

 

Intellectual Property

  • Copyright

    • Purchasing an artwork does not transfer copyright or reproduction rights.

  • Use of Images

    • AMAP may use images of artworks for marketing or documentation unless the client requests otherwise in writing.

 

Client Responsibilities

Clients agree to:

  • Provide accurate information regarding space, installation needs, and budget

  • Ensure safe access for installation teams

  • Maintain artworks in appropriate environmental conditions

 

Limitation of Liability

AMAP is not liable for:

  • Damage caused by improper handling after delivery

  • Environmental damage (humidity, sunlight, temperature)

  • Market fluctuations affecting resale value

Total liability will not exceed the amount paid for the artwork or service.

 

Confidentiality

We respect client privacy and do not disclose personal information, purchase history, or collection details without written consent, except as required by law.

 

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts of Winnebago County, Illinois.

 

Amendments

AMAP may update these Terms at any time. The version in effect at the time of sale or engagement applies.
